We offer resource referrals and shelter placement in coordination with existing services. In addition, The TaskForce provides transportation to shelters, housing programs, detox facilities, hospitals, and crisis centers.

NEW: We are pleased to offer a pre-registration tool to request shelter in Broward County. This tool is currently for adult individuals only. Please note that once you pre-register, we will use the contact information you provide to update you when shelter availability is expected to be available to you. You may also visit us our daily assessment locations to check on the status of shelter availability and receive other resources any day of the week.

We are unable to guarantee that shelter will be available to every person who registers and we are unable to estimate the length of time for waiting. Please call 954-563-4357 if you have any questions after submitting your pre-registration.

About

The TaskForce Fore Ending Homelessness, Inc. operates programs that provide outreach services to the people experiencing homelessness and/or fleeting domestic violence in Broward County. We offer referrals and placement in coordination with a variety of service providers. In addition, The TaskForce provides transportation to shelters, housing programs, detox facilities, hospitals, and crisis centers.

Outreach teams, often accompanied by a local trained police officer, operate out of vehicles throughout Broward County. We provide our services at feeding sites, parks, bus shelters, encampments and other places not meant for human habitation.

Through a PATH grant funded by the U.S. Department of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the TaskForce Fore Ending Homelessness works with clients who have severe mental health challenges, including those with co-occuring substance use.

Outreach specialists establish contact with individuals and families to inform them of social services available in the community and encourage them to access those services. In addition to fixed regular locations where people can meet the outreach team to get help, teams repeatedly visit encampments and places where people congregate. We also respond to individual outreach requests we receive on a regular basis and are proud of our rapid response time.

Most importantly, through advocacy and outreach, the TaskForce Fore Ending Homelessness gets people off the street and into housing and shelter. The TaskForce has feet on the ground seven days per week, 365 days a year. Our access points are open daily.

Coordinated Access Locations

The TaskForce Outreach Coordinated Access and Assessment locations occur daily. At these locations TaskForce Outreach Speciailists conudct interviews, assessments and referral services for the Coordinated Entry and Assessment system in Broward County. Information about accessing emergency shelter for single individuals can also be obtained at these locations.
